This panel of LGBTQ+ comic creators and librarians will highlight some of the important developments and advancements that have been made in the comics industry regarding LGBTQ+ content. Learn about the creator panelists' work and upcoming projects, why comics is an important medium for LGBTQ+ empowerment, readers' advisory for LGBTQ+ comics and creators that bring joy, and more. Panelists will share their experiences as LGBTQ+ people who love comics, the trials and joy they've faced thanks to the medium, and the variety of roles LGBTQ+ people can engage in the comics industry. Participants will leave this panel with information regarding the state of LGBTQ+ people and content in comics, the effect of book bans and censorship on marginalized groups, book recommendations and creators to follow, the ways your patrons can find joy and empowerment from LGBTQ+ comics, information about the creators' careers, and more.
